Environment Canada has a website listing climate normal data on degree days. Owing to the urban heat island effect there's a lot of local variability. For example, the climate normal annual freezing degree day data in the area are:

  • Toronto Island Airport ..... 439
  • U of T Campus ..... 443
  • International Airport ..... 646.
Local effects, like being in a frost hollow, and year to year variability, are also factors.
