If you found this answer useful, please considerI believe that the diameter would be an insignificant factor regarding the percentage of lichen coverage on the tree. The major factors would be the location, amount of sunlight, temperature, moisture, air polution, etc. Stand height does seem to have some effect, which could be related to diameter, but this is probably incidental. Here is a research project on Vancouver Island that may help.
