Ryan, a 13 year old male from Maryland asks on March 10, 2004,I'm doing a science experiment with magnets and was wondering, do magnets lose their strength over time? Also, what is the most powerful magnet I can buy?

Most modern magnets do not significantly lose their strength over time unless they are heated. The most powerful magnets available today are usually called "neodymium magnets," actually a compound of iron, neodymium, and boron.
