Q:

If you light a campfire inside a cave in a permafrost zone will condensation form on the cave walls? Can you speculate on this? We are writing a paper about the working conditions of paleolithic cave artists in Europe from 40,000 to 10,000 years ago. Do you know of a geological survey that shows the depth of the permafrost throughout Europe over these times?
