RESEARCH TECHNICIAN

Repare Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented research technician to join our biology department and help advance our portfolio of synthetic lethal cancer therapies. The individual should have experience in tissue culture and molecular and cellular biology techniques. Knowledge in CRISPR/Cas-mediated genome editing is also desired (but not a requirement). Candidates must have the ability to communicate clearly, collaborate and enjoy a fast-paced and hands-on research environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·              Management of Repare’s cell line inventory including the expansion, banking, and characterization of all new cell lines

·              Characterization of all new cell lines using a variety of cell and molecular biology techniques including proliferation assays, PCR, qPCR, immunoblotting, and fluorescence microscopy 

·              Maintenance and characterization of CRISPR KO/KI cell line clones

·              Execute experiments in a timely, efficient, and independent manner

·              Present clearly and succinctly in a variety of internal settings

·              Good organizational and time-management skills including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously

 

REQUIREMENTS

·             Master’s of Science degree (M.Sc.) in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field

·             Minimum 2 years experience in culturing human cell lines 

·             Flexible working hours (ability to stop by the lab on weekends and holidays when needed)

·             Effective communication skills, both verbally and written

·             Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·             Experience with computer software relevant to laboratory research and data interpretation

·             Previous biotech or pharma industry experience is desired (but not a requirement)
