James Robert Bolton Analytical Chemistry

Studies in photochemistry and the photodegradation of pollutants

The Story

Bolton studies how ultraviolet light (and even sunlight) cause the destruction of organic pollutants in contaminated waters. Bolton has left the University of Western Ontario to form Bolton Photosciences Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta, a company that provides consulting services for applications of ultraviolet light, e.g. for the treatment of wastewater contaminated with organic pollutants. He has patented inventions, has served as a consultant to many different firms and government agencies and has long been interested in the use of solar energy. He has written many books and papers on photochemistry. Bolton is currently president of Bolton Photosciences Inc. a consulting firm in Edmonton, Alberta.
