The Story

Jess Brewer is a physicist at the University of British Columbia who works at the cyclotron nuclear facility called TRIUMF there. He is an expert on muon science as well as the practical aspects of muon beam technology. He won the 2008 Canadian Association of Physicists Brockhouse Medal in recognition of his pioneering work to develop muon spin relaxation and related techniques, leading to the creation of an important new field in materials physics.
