Can you explain paleomagnetism? From what I've read, I've learned that paleomagnetism is the study of magnetism in ancient rocks, and several million years ago, the magnetic particles in lava hardened in the position that the magnetic poles were. Then someone discovered that the differences between the particles in rock in North America and Europe ran the length of the Atlantic Ocean. Can you explain this further?
